NGC Wins Big in “The Oscars of Retail Technology”

The RIS News Software LeaderBoard has been described as the “oscars of retail technology” – which is why NGC was proud to earn top 10 rankings in more than a dozen categories in the 2013 LeaderBoard, which was released last month.

The LeaderBoard is an influential guide to best-in-class retail technology software companies, and it’s based entirely on retailer evaluations, which makes it especially meaningful. Retailers rate technology vendors such as NGC based on customer satisfaction in a wide range of criteria. For this most recent report, 376 retailers evaluated 99 software vendors across 50 categories, making the LeaderBoard a very competitive process.

We were especially pleased that NGC was the only PLM vendor ranked in key areas such as Overall Performance, Total Cost of Operations, Technology Innovation and Customer Satisfaction. And we were pleased to earn additional top-10 rankings in categories including Return on Investment, Quality of Service and Recommendation Status, among others.

RIS News editor-in-chief Joe Skorupa summed it up by saying: “The Software LeaderBoard is an extremely rigorous, competitive process, so NGC is to be commended for its exceptionally strong showing. Categories such as Technology Innovation, Overall Performance, Total Cost of Operations and Recommendation Status are key measurements of a software vendor's ability to deliver, and retailers have ranked NGC among the elite in these categories. A record number of retailers participated this year, making NGC's accomplishments especially noteworthy."

Femme Football – Nicole Miller and Fellow Designers Create Extravagantly Decorated Football Helmets for NFL Charity Auction

Die-hard NFL football fans are glued to their TV sets for the last few playoff games of the season and eagerly anticipating the Super Bowl, which will be hosted in New York this year. As football season comes to a close, one of our favorite customers, Nicole Miller, participated in a charity NFL design event in honor of the Super Bowl, along with other notable names such as Dennis Basso, John Varvatos, Donna Karan and many others.

These top designers put their unique spin on wildly colored, extravagantly decorated helmets that will be auctioned off at the Bloomingdale’s tailgating party January 15 for an audience of NFL players and CFDA designers. With an opening bid of $248 in honor of Super Bowl XLVIII, the event is sure to raise a respectable amount of funds for the NFL Foundation, a charity supporting high school football programs, safety efforts, and a unit called NFL Play 60 that advocates physical activity in children nationwide. A virtual fitting technology at the event will allow attendees to try on some of the helmets available for auction, adding an engaging, interactive aspect to the tailgate.

Nicole Miller enjoyed getting involved and bringing her own touch to the helmet design aspect to the charity event. Nicole Miller’s ultra-feminine helmet was featured on the cover of Women’s Wear Daily on Jan. 7 – quite an accomplishment! “The idea of bringing a female touch to something masculine was very interesting to me,” said Miller. “I always like to see the colors in the uniforms.”

Kudos to Nicole Miller and the other designers that lent their talent to this fun, colorful, and very worthwhile event. And stay tuned for Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2, 2014 – let us know who you think will make it to the final game!
